Altstadt Cafe in Frankenberg

Here you can get the best cake in all of Waldeck-Frankenberg. The boss is just cool and the employees are very nice.

Pleasant, but somewhat dusty atmosphere. Plastic flowers on the tables, decorations from the last decade. What stood out positively was that the cakes and tarts tasted themselves and baked with love. Not 100% designer cakes without taste, but optically styled, but really tasty, with restrained but present sweetness and overall very harmonious. Visually not the top hit, but that's not the point. The wide range of beverages such as various types of tea and coffee specialties should also be emphasized. And of course the huge selection of cakes. I counted 13 different cakes and pies on Sunday. Outstanding!

Because you don't take a cake you are denounced by the boss! No table was wiped or disinfected! 2 coffees drunk and 2 € tip given no thanks, no shot or anything else !!!!! Something like that doesn't work 👎

Very unfriendly staff

Very conveniently located on the Obermarkt, very close to the half-timbered town hall. The decor is getting a bit old, but that was fine. But there is no real cosiness there. I didn't try the cake, but the milk café was delicious and inexpensive. Unfortunately, the service was rather unfriendly, one of the women grumbled and did not make you feel welcome. The other waitress was very nice.

Nice ambience, very delicious and exclusively home-made cakes, on which one even waits a bit .... if in the café if the popularity again very many guests want to enjoy at the same time :-) One sits in a comfortable atmosphere and together with the enjoyment that lifts the mood and just as pleasantly leaves the café later on.

Every day three dishes for lunch - under 10 € (with dessert), home-baked cakes and pies, very delicious cappuccino. Breakfast on reservation, but one day before. Too bad that there are no sandwiches or breads. Would vlt. to consider extending the offer. Is not a big deal, just to prepare a cheese or sausage roll! 😉

Two years ago already there made a break, now the second time in transit of a motorcycle tour enjoyed a brilliant cake with coffee .... The boss unchanged direct and nice .... We will stop again!
